Lyadov, Anatoly
Anatoly Konstantinovich Lyadov (1855 - 1914) was a Russian composer, teacher and conductor. Lyadov was born in St. Petersburg into a family of eminent Russian musicians. He was taught informally by his conductor father from 1860 to 1868, and then in 1870 entered the St. Petersburg Conservatory to study piano and violin. He soon gave up instrumental study to concentrate on counterpoint and fugue, although he remained a fine pianist. His natural musical talent was highly thought of by, among others, Modest Mussorgsky, and during the 1870s he became associated with the group of composers known as The Mighty Handful. He entered the composition classes of Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, but was expelled for absenteeism in 1876. In 1878 he was readmitted to these classes to help him complete his graduation composition.
HAPPY & UPLIFTING this piece has a folksy village feel to it. Sublime plucked strings lend it a skating feel, suitable for a festive get together circa 1890. Use this to advertise your product or give your movie a festive feel, very positive and joyous. TURN OF THE CENTURY ORCHESTRATION. Instrumental, Classical Music, Romantic Period, Anatoly Lyadov
Happy! Think of yellow chicks waddling along in a line and you have the picture. Pizzicato (plucked) orchestral strings create a merry atmosphere supported by a little tambourine with a piccolo/Irish whistle solo. Perfect for advertising products aimed at kids. Composed by Anatoly Liadov in 1890. Instrumental, Dramatic Music, Whimsical Music, Anatoly Lyadov
The piece is indeed a marvel of mystical serenity, the waters gently stirring under starry skies, in suggestively shifting major and minor thirds and ninth chords supported by deep pedal points, with the “enchanted” sounds of harp and celesta, and delicate flute traceries (all in the Rimsky manner). Instrumental, Classical Music, Romantic Period, Anatoly Lyadov
