California Singer and Composer Andrea Lane describes her music as "John Lennon meets Janis Joplin for tea on a spiritual retreat." Her music is in-your-face inspirational rock, a genre Andrea coined in 2008. She got her start in the heavy punk and grunge music in the late 1990s, and fronted several bands including the popular L.A. band, North Green, until 2004. Eight of Andrea's North Green tracks were featured on The Gilmore Girls, and LTN cable network has also featured her lush and smokey vocals.
Andrea Lane's songs of hope, love and freedom push the limits of Inspirational Music. Her latest solo project, "Churches and Prisons," is a 10 song labor of love inspired by an inquiry into the nuances of freedom and bondage. Today, Andrea enjoys performing her inspirational rock in churches, prisons and schools, and is in the studio working on her next release.
Andrea has songs out on Cleopatra Records, Independent Records, as well her own label, OhMyGod Productions. Andrea has enjoyed regular radio play in Kentucky, her hometown (HAY 98.3 fm), on the internet (Bounce Radio, One Vibration Radio), and more. Her independently released EP entitled "Blessings" and her CD "Chruches and Prisons" have helped her develop a huge fan base. Her next CD, "Freedom Rox," is set to be released in the summer of 2010. Indeed, Andrea Lane's music is Inspiration on the Edge.
