Yet, that is where Saskatchewan musician and composer Mike Katzberg (aka Cyurus Razor) has spent over 8 years crafting these powerhouse Rock tracks, now online here. Perhaps some of it is the cold desolation of the Canadian prairies, but whatever the reason, there is no mistaking Cyrus Razor has a gift -- and it's no coincidence his stage name is similar to Nine Inch Nails. Cyrus composes in the Industrial Rock/Electronica, Rock, Trance, EBM, and Classical genres.
The music of Cyurus Razor, also known as Mike Katzberg, is nothing short of amazing. Fans of the deep poetry that closes the long versions of the Moody Blues masterpiece, "Nights In White Satin," as well as Justin Hayward's and John Lodge's "Forever Autumn," will be instantly mesmerized by the deep, spellbinding poetry that opens his track "Sentinel." Part wildly poetic and very deep, part Charlie Sheen on one of his more coherent early 2011 webcasts, it's artistically mesmerizing.
Cyrus is one of the few artists ever authorized to remix Nine Inch Nails' meaningful and haunting song "Hurt." Musical competitions Cyrus has won include the Chemlab-Binary Nation Remix contest, with songs and remixes as varied as "You Bring It On Yourself" (Spilled Milk Remix), Sinsect's Remix CD (Burn Remix and Terminal Injection Remix), and a first place finish for Jef Stott's Lamaset (Miami Mix). Cyrus developed an interest in music early, recording a full album with Larry McCormick of the Jeff Semple Band as early as 1993, and has a bright future.
