Andy and Emily Ivari are a brother/sister duo who compose love songs that speak to the heart. It all began in 2001, when Andy and Emily started writing songs in earnest together. After an initial recording, they started playing shows around the Chicago area, most notably gigs at the Elbo Room, Uncommon Ground, Drake University, DePaul University, and the fabled Metro.
Their first recording garnered them success with an honorable mention in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest for the song "On An Island," along with a placement in the semi-finals for the Independent Music World Series (Midwest). Additionally, they were invited to play in the Annual Jeff Buckley Birthday Tribute held every year at Uncommon Ground where they met Jeff's mom, who promptly featured them on Jeff's official website in the Peyote Radio Theater, as well as interviewing them for his International Newsletter.
