"The Ubiquitous Poet" reflects his alter-ego: Ubiquitous meaning existing everywhere; and the Poet refers to early days as an MC trying to elevate his lyrics beyond the average street-corner rappers. Hoover's beginnings in the industry began in 1989 in Richmond, VA spittin' out intelligent rhymes over organic jazzed-out beats. While at Morehouse College, he began writing the jazzy tracks he's so famous for.
