Michael Louis Parks
Texas songwriter Michael Louis Parks fell in love with music upon hearing his first Beatles' song in the 60's. He wrote poetry and short stories during his teen years, and further developed his creative writing skills while attending college in Austin. Heavily influenced by the local music scene, Michael spent many hours at area hot spots, and played guitar with John Garza, a top songwriter at the time. Today, he writes catchy, heartfelt songs with vocals in the Country, Pop, and Rock genres, and his song "If It's True" recently won the Billboard Song Contest award.
Michael Louis Parks first songwriting venture started with Richard Petry of Purple Haze Music, who provided encouragement and pitched his songs to Nashville artists Gene Watson, Doug Stone, Tracy Lawrence, Chris Ledoux Shenandoa, Little Texas, Neal McCoy, Sammy Kershaw, Vince Gill, Tanya Tucker, Faith Hill, Tracy Bryd, Daryl Singleterry, David Ball, John Montgomery, and many others. He got holds from Gene Watson, Lance Miller, Michael Todd, Ron Wallace, Bonnie Bishop, Jim Peale, and Freddie Fender, and his songs have been recorded by Shelia Byrd, Becca, Holly Adams, Jordan Cody, and Brad Mason.
