The band is lead by Wilfredo Gonzalez Sr., also known as Freddy, who has been performing alongside his three brothers for over 15 years. Freddy writes, arranges, and produces the material, and one of his stylistic signatures is to replace the Salsa piano with Cuban tres guitar, resulting in a uniquely vibrant sound. Ritmo Seis (Rhythm Six) leader Wilfredo Gonzalez Sr. taught himself guitar by listening to legends such as Jose Feliciano, Mario Hernandez, and George Benson. Growing up in a family with 9 siblings, much of Wilfredo's inspiration comes from his mother, whose unwavering love and determination carried the family through lean times.
