Stephen Joseph
Producer Stephen Joseph works out of several recording studios in and around Manhattan and New Jersey. He has been a part of four Grammy nominations and two Grammy wins. The wins were for his contributions to Les Paul and Friends album cuts “69 Freedom Special,” and “Caravan" (2006). Stephen was Grammy nominated for contributions to Roy Hargrove's “Strength” EP (2005) and Meshell Ndegeocello's “Fantasy” (2007). Stephen also had a Top 40 hit recording and mixing on Lumidee's “She’s Like the Wind,” featuring Tony Sunshine.
In the 8 years since Stephen Joseph made music his occupation for the future, both fate and karma have been on his side. First was his internship with Rich Robinson, one of his biggest musical influences, at Keyhole Studios in midtown Manhattan. Rich is the lead guitarist for the The Black Crowes. From there, Stephen learned many things about vintage guitars, amps and microphone techniques.
After a year at Keyhole Studios, Stephen joined the Eastside Sound Recording Studios, located in Manhattan's Lower East Side. Shortly thereafter, he became a full-time engineer and producer. At Eastside, he worked with many talented musicians and a number of Hip Hop, Rock and Jazz groups.
