Woodcock Group
Pianist and Composer Aleksander Jovanovic Schljuka founded the Woodcock Group in 2009 in Belgrade, Serbia. They perform original music, including Jazz, Folk, and Classical Music. The band currently consists of Aleksander on Piano and Keyboards, Marko Fabry on Electric Bass, and Aleksander Cvetkovic on Drums. The band currently performs music from its first album, Water Stories, a unique work inspired by using water as an intelligent appearance in its own right in many forms, from spring to sea, lakes, waterfalls, to the human body, which is over 50% water.
The Woodcock Group applies their own expression and comprehension to their music, beginning with their first appearance in the “Umbria Jazz Balcanic Windows Festival" in Belgrade in 2009. They tour consistently at clubs, squares and jazz festivals, most often as a trio of Aleksander Jovanovic Schljuka, Marko Fabry and Aleksander Cvetkovic. While these three make up the core of the band, other topnotch musicians often perform with the band, including Saxophonist Bojan Vukelic, Drummer Miodrag Miki Milovanov, and Bassist Ivan Maksimovic.
