Four long pieces and 15 transitions. Instrumentation includes synthesizer drones, heavy drums, electric guitars, treated piano, English horn, trombone and string bass.
Prologue: Establishes the eerie mood and introduces the Beethoven motif with distant horns and distorted piano before building to a dramatic crescendo.
End Act 1: Shorter, restates the Prologue's climax.
Epilogue: Restates the horn call and piano response from the Prologue, and a second Beethoven melody is heard as well.
Curtain Call: Drums and drone loop.
Murder of the Macduffs: Violent scene trasition with heavy drums, guitar and processed scream.
