I saw a procession in the night
With black dressed priests and torches shining bright
They moved quiet slowly on their way to celebrate
And the rhythm of their steps made to cool ground vibrate
There was no one in hast, all walked quiet in a line
Sang together songs of the conquest of the crime

And we saved the human race for the hand of fate

At the top of a hill they knelt down to the ground
Stood up again and sat down in round
One of them began to praise their God of love and brotherhood
Who made them know what’s bad and good
Then he pulled a cross out of his cowl
And held it high into the air
In his eyes a strange, strange stare
Then he begged his God
He should come down to his inferios
Holy savior
