David Caldwell (Brazilian Tracks)

The David Caldwell Five is led by David Caldwell Gustafson, although officially a band only since November 2005. The DC5 is quickly gaining a reputation as a musical force that insists on being recognized. Blending the lyrics and sensibility of a rock band with the musicianship and improvisational skills of a jazz quintet, the DC5 takes both genres to a new level. Their thought-provoking originals take you back to the jump-blues of the 1940's, or put their own spin on lesser-known classics by artists such as Paul Simon, Sting, Tom Waits, and the Beatles.
