JOHN GREENHOW aka AZAMAYNJohn has had several years' experience as a keyboard player in local bands, usually co-composing and performing original music inclined towards house/r’n’b with soul/jazz/ambient flavours. He was a member of 'The Supernatrals' who supported 'The Communards' on their UK tour in 1986. He has also toured with club/covers bands to Germany and Ireland.John has experience of studio work, having composed music for non-broadcast films and videos (e.g. educational and corporate) in the UK.
Influences include Steely Dan, Pat Metheny, Talking Heads and Richard Rodney Bennett.His CD ‘Azaman’,(March 2001), had good reactions from several record companies and internet radio stations. He occasionally collaborates with vocalists in the creation of original songs.In December 2002 John recorded a CD of his own compositions for Brain Gym movements. This featured the lyrics of Bobby Wintour on four songs. More recently John has recorded dance-orientated electronica, CD ‘Insofar’ (September 2003), as well as CD ‘Equal Light’ (January 2004), an eclectic mix of tracks but still with ambient/jazz tendencies.These CDs have been accepted by production music libraries online as well as receiving airplay and digital download promotion.
