As a kid, Paul Babelay confiscated all of his Band Director Dad’s jazz records, and those sounds became his heartbeat. Paul earned his Masters in Orchestral Percussion at North Texas State U, and gives us a rousing 'Happy Birthday' track from the Caribbean. Makes you want to dial up your Travel Agent!
Over the years, Paul's musical career has taken him to various international venues. He has received a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, as well as other honors. His smooth jazz approach to the vibraphone evolved as he played with an R&B/Funk band for 10 years in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. He continues to perform, compose, and produce (which is a good thing since he has a beautiful wife and three awesome daughters to support.) Over the years Paul has produced, composed, arranged and played many different genres. His feel for composing leaps out at you with his lyrical melodies and rich grooves, but it's his "chops" that will move and woo you.
