Seventeen-year-old Deirdre Leah Faegre, a resident of one of the most beautiful spots on Earth, Lake Tahoe (the Nevada side), is well on her way to success at a very young age. As early as 2004, Deirdre was in the news, for, of all things, doing cartwheels in school. That led to appearances on Ryan Seacrest’s morning show, the Today Show and Jimmy Kimmel Live, who proclaimed her “An American Hero.” For nearly a week, 11-year-old Deirdre dominated feature news.
Deirdre was taught to swim when she was 9 months old, before she could walk, and learned to type by age four. An accomplished musician from a musical family, Deirdre can play instruments as diverse as the Dulcimer, with the precision of a true professional. During the summer of 2009, she performed a stirring, virtually perfectly true-to-the-original version of "Across The Universe" live at a General Electric Corporate Picnic in Carson City, Nevada, for a large and appreciative audience.
