Red River is a band from west of the Mississippi River in Minnesota.A husband and wife duo, Dave and Michelle Anderson write, sing, and record their songs in their home studio.
Michelle Anderson writes earthy, rootsy songs, that, combined with Dave Anderson’s rock sensibilities, result in a sound that is unique to Red River – alternative country / neotraditionalist / Americana, with a bit of pop flair.Dave Anderson writes and sings rock/pop/new traditionalist songs with a nod toward his Minneapolis roots.
Together they have created the Red River sound. Red River's musical influences are many and varied. Michelle's songs are influenced by her musical heroes, such as Merle Haggard, Buck Owens, Roy Orbison, and a bit of the Beatles, of course. Dave's influences include Bob Dylan, Brian Wilson, Ray Davies, the Rolling Stones, and a bit of the Beatles, of course.
Michelle writes neotraditionalist and Americana music, hearkening back to a simpler time and place, a place that perhaps only lives in our memories. Dave writes music that combines elements of guitar rock with the pop sensibilities of artists such as Paul McCartney and Brian Wilson.
Both Dave and Michelle write songs of love and living and just muddling through. You know, the universal stuff. It's the combination of their styles that creates something unique and special.
