John Mamone is an active musician and songwriter with more than 20 years experience, and is the bass player/lead singer for the Canadian rock band Volume Water. His music has been licenced by MTV for the television program "TWO A DAYS," and he has recorded with producer Jack Richardson (The Guess Who, Alice Cooper), and opened up for Big Sugar, and Pete Best, the original drummer for THE BEATLES. John has also performed live with members from the bands I Mother Earth and Finger Eleven at Volume Water shows.
Volume Water was formed in 2003 and is based in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Their debut CD, “Underneath the Sun,” was released in 2005. The band has a video on youtube for their track, “Underneath the Sun.” Their 2008 CD, "Land of the "Greed...Home of the Slave," produced by Mamone, is a 15-track collection, and was nominated for Rock Recording of the Year at the Hamilton Music Awards.
Volume Water was selected by Hamilton’s rock radio station, Y108, as the Extreme Band Slam winners for 2008, and was a semi-finalist in the Bodog Music Battle of the Bands. They were voted Silver in a recent poll as the Best Local Band in View Magazine. They have shared the stage with such groups as The Trews, Teenage Head, Pride Tiger, Rides Again, Age of Daze and many others. Volume Water is known as one of the hardest working bands on the local scene and has developed a large fan base in Canada.
John also has extensive experience in local theatre, most notably, portraying the Pinball Wizard in the Tivoli Theatre production of The Who’s “Tommy."
