Umaru Tejan Kabba, aka WarChild, a recording artist on ACM Records, was born May 1982 in Koidu town, Sierra Leone, West Africa, youngest of 16 children. His parents traveled excessively, necessitating his relocation to the one woman who was everything to him, his grandmother. When he was 12 she passed away, which sent him to an uncle's house, where he was treated like a slave because he was thought to be smarter, more brainy than his cousins, who shared the home.
