Title: Content ID Match notification messages from YouTube
Last Reviewed: Feb 06, 2012
Q. I recently uploaded a video to YouTube that contains a track I licensed here. I just received an notification email message from YouTube similar to the following below. What does this mean?
Your video, xxxx, may have content that is owned or licensed by GoDigital (or some other company may be mentioned).
No action is required on your part; however, if you are interested in learning how this affects your video,
please visit the Content ID Matches section of your account for more information.
- The YouTube Team
A. Our company monetizes social media uses of music for our music composers and artists so that they can earn performance-based royalties for continuing uses of their music in social media sites such as YouTube. If you have received a notification message similar to the above message, you can disregard it as it is simply a notification about this situation. GoDigital is one of our channel partners in our Internet monetization program.
On the other hand, if the Content ID match is causing you a problem in some way, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to request the removal of the Content ID Match from your video. Make sure to include in the email the URL link to your video at YouTube. We will remove the Content ID Match generally within 24 hours.
Thanks for your understanding.
