I scribble images to paper 
these walls are telling tales with paintings of the past 
the coffee refill’s free avoiding complication 

working through the words to find direction 
I’m caught between the colors of another awkward phrase 
the jangle from the bell that sounds the open door 
entered gently standing there she breaks my concentration 

love can’t always sting you with an answer

she spent her lifetime in this cafe 
bringing all her richness to the surface 
just like all the others with her head up in the clouds
