I have been challenged by a classical pianist to turn the North American Rags into Latin American Rags and you can chose which you prefer. My first efforts wound up in the bin to get the sound quality I have used the Marimba instead of the piano as it makes the Rags more earthy less refined, better.   Keywords: Samba tango Cuba conga bossa nova jazz blues afro-american slaves Brazil South America USA Spain Portugal England dance Africa Caribbean drums parades

Long Description: Latin Rags the Entertainer, World Fusion, Latin World Fusion, commercial stock music, royalty free music download and corporate music

Keywords: Nazareth’s first “tango brazileiro, ” Brejeiro, was written in 1893, six years before Scott Joplin’s first big ragtime hit, the Maple Leaf. What an amazing coincidence that two young pianist/composers, writing at the same time in places as far apart geographically and culturally as Rio de Janeiro and Saint Louis, would write music so much alike. Or was it coincidence? In fact, although thousands of miles apart, Saint Louis and Rio were linked by a well-traveled water route. Goods, people, and, inevitably, musicians traveled up and down the Mississippi, through New Orleans to the Caribbean islands – Cuba in particular – and along the coast of South America to Rio and Buenos Aires and beyond. The Rags of North America became different dances in all Latin Countries more gutsy.
