This one really has to be heard. It's indescribable. A great sci-fi effect. A very organic, analog kind of electronic sound, suggesting a vacuum tube amplifer being heavily overloaded.

Description: This one really has to be heard. It's indescribable. A great sci-fi effect. A very organic, analog kind of electronic sound, suggesting a vacuum tube amplifer being heavily overloaded.
Extended Keywords: This effect was originally inspired by a scene in the first Alien movie where the chamber of the eggs was discovered and it seemed as if some laser beam was providing some sort of protective alarm system. In any case, actor John Hurt refers to a beam of light and reported "It reacts when broken." This light beam caused a sound in this film. I was creating sci-fi effects, and when I created this one, it reminded me of the sound in that scene.
