Our bodies are rising, but our dreams are falling down.
It’s not surprising, seeing as that’s where we’re bound.

You wanted me to be your answer.   
You wanted me for your sole enhancer.
But I can’t be what I’ve never been.
When I now see who I never was.

It’s a lost cause.   

The clouds are rising, but the sun lays low.
It’s not surprising, seeing as it’s time to go, our separate ways.
Nothing ever stays quite the same, no one to blame.

But a burned-out flame. 

You can’t be a lover, when you don’t love the soul,
Of someone you never really took the time to know.

We wanted to find love.  What can I say? 
We took a chance, but it didn’t go our way.
We can’t remain; can’t keep playing the same game.  
Oh what time does.  Oh what never was.

My body’s rising, but my mind is on the lam.
