Everyday that passed us by, we said we'd be together until the day we die and it was true to my heart
I'll remember the times we had together and the day we said goodbye but not forever she started to cry
I smiled at her and the day went on and in her tears I heard this song
You'll be in my heart, forever as life goes on We may be apart, but our hearts will be together and our memories will last forever with you and me
I helped you along with your life, to always spread your wings and fly Remember the words I sing to you like a bed time story your mom reads to you
Little girl take my heart, hold it close I won't be far If you're down just look to the sky, you'll see my face in the clouds that roll by
I'll be watching over you, I'll be the angel you see in your dreams singing this song for you, cause
You'll be in my heart, forever as life goes on We may be apart, but I'll be the bird you see in the sky flying by whistling this song to you from me
Why must we say goodbye to the days and the times we used to know I'll never forget the wonderful ways and the beautiful face you would show If you're laying in a sun shiny field thinking of me, look around and you'll see
I'll be the tears that you cry, I'll be the wings that you fly I'll be the wind in your hair and face I'll be the song you sing in this magical place
Be a soldier for me now, stand up tall I know you know how, and I'll catch you at the end of the rainbow
You and Me
Extended Keywords: Written when I was not yet 13. I had just finished my attendance in following my public suspension from government schools and my parents were already talking about relocating to Lake Tahoe. My immediate thought was that when that time came I would not be seeing much of her which inspired me to write this song.
I've known Sofia from the day she was born. By the time she was old enough to talk she was my best friend (better known as 'little sister' to her and I) --always playing, dancing, singing... all the memories attributed to the song as I wrote it.
I didn't even realize at the time how hard it would be to not see her everyday. But somehow I was able to express those feelings in my lyrics at the time.
When we finally moved along so did the song. 2 to 3 years after I wrote the song, I was still putting the finishing touches on the production
