The Way I Watch Sunshine

Spent the day out beside the stream, with fish that make small splashes and have swimming dreams,
Where birds don't mind if they're heard on the radio.
And I watch the flowers as they dodge the breeze - and ivy with the energy to climb the trees,
As pebbles smiled at times I'll never know.

Cause it's in the way I watch sunshine, sitting in a patch of grass I've claimed as mine,
That makes me feel like like finding my own way.
If I should say I'm not myself, a china doll sittin on a dusty shelf will remind me if I'm whole then I'm okay.
It's less about night now than day...

Past the trees and beyond the lake, laughing at the ripples ducks leave in their wake,
Cause who knows just what else I'll never see.
I'm not alone so I must have friends - enough sun and optimism gets you in the end,
As the sound of thunder clapping reaches down and through the trees.

And I hope that that's okay,
I'll find my way,
In a way I think I know that it's not over...
