Extended Description Industrial, ethereal music set composed for a theatre production of Shakespeare's "Macbeth, " inspired by Beethoven's Piano trio No. 5 in D Major (Ghost) by way of Nine Inch Nails. Four long pieces and 15 transitions. Instrumentation includes synthesizer drones, heavy drums, electric guitars, treated piano, English horn, trombone and string bass.
Prologue: Establishes the eerie mood and introduces the Beethoven motif with distant horns and distorted piano before building to a dramatic crescendo.
End Act 1: Shorter, restates the Prologue's climax.
Epilogue: Restates the horn call and piano response from the Prologue, and a second Beethoven melody is heard as well.
Curtain Call: Drums and drone loop.
Murder of the Macduffs: Violent scene trasition with heavy drums, guitar and processed scream.
Scene Transition 1-14: Various lengths and moods, all incorporating the Beethoven "Ghost" motives with horns, distorted piano, and industrial drums.
