Many of the words in Take this Hammer came from a traditional prison work song called nine pound hammer which Leadbelly rewrote and improved. I am just using the traditional tune to show a Jazzy version, which makes it fun. This is my tribute to leadbelly not a rip off.
Today we laugh about chain gangs because if we don't we would drown in our own sorrows.
My version keeps this history alive but in a modern way.
