When I was a little girl
my daddy was my whole world.
Wanted to be his favourite,
did my best to prove it,
I didn’t want to lose what we had together
I thought forever.
Every night after a long day you’d sit down on the floor and play your guitar.
You bought me my first record player at just aged six,
I remember bedtime snakes through the banisters.
And Gary Moore, Robert Cray, AC/DC and Bonnie Raite were my headline acts
and you’d both spin us around the living room.

Fast forward a few years,
playing guitar in the dark waiting up for me.
