Hounds From Heaven

Outside my window, I gaze and see,
Something in the distance is moving towards me,
The ground is covered, so white, so pure,
Ice needles hanging, reflecting the cure.

What is this waiting, what can I see?
Is it hunting and coming for me?
Then as the thunder cracks, a light shines down,
And that one turns to many wild hounds.

They’re getting nearer, they’re after my soul,
These hounds from heaven are seeking to take hold,
They’re chasing me to a place where I see,
Soul thirsty hounds are surrounding me.

They’re running and galloping, with such beauty and grace,
Their breath in a white cloud, they’re ready to give chase,
Should I let them catch me, or fight with all of my will?
I fear they will take me alive, so I can’t stand here still.

There’s no place to run, no place to hide,
God has sent hounds down to hunt me alive,
As they come upon me, so swift, like a dove,
I’ll let them catch me, and ravish me with love.

I can’t fight the truth here, being not of this realm,
Yet my body is a ship, and I the master at it’s helm,
I think I am waking, from this dream in the night,
As the hounds from heaven take me into the light.
