ABOUT THE BAND:
ElectricKoraLand (EKL) create original music using a fusion of world instruments, combined with contemporary sounds.
Since their first album EKL have spread their global roots to an expansive repertoire featuring an Electrified version of the Kora (African Harp); Electronically modulated cello; Mbiras (Thumb Pianos); Hang Drums (Gong like instruments); Cajon, and Balafon (West African Marimba).
These instruments are channelled through an array of effects, with various acoustic hand percussion of African and Contemporary influence, and programmed percussion.
Sparkling, mesmeric kora line and pulsing cellos combine with various percussion. The music seems to hover as it is propelled gently forward, interupted by a dramatic middle section. One use would be journey scenes especially where the characters are showing determination. Instrumental, Dramatic, Contemplative Music
An Mbira (African Thumb Piano) based soundscape populated by multiple cellos, programmed and acoustic percussion, and some tasty synth textures. It has a timeless quality, great depth and spaciousness, elicting an emotional response that is hard to define. Instrumental, Dramatic, Ethereal Music
