Title: Does RadioSparx support pre-loading and local file caching?

Last Reviewed: Nov 03, 2015

Q. Does RadioSparx support pre-loading and local file caching?

A.  Yes, RadioSparx does support both pre-loading and local file caching, however there are some considerations to be aware of.

To clarify, pre-loading is where as one track is playing, the next track to play loads early so that it will be ready to play as soon as the first track finishes playing.

Pre-loading works on both Adobe Flash and Jplayer, except only on desktop systems (Windows, Linux, and Macintosh), and all Windows devices in general, including Windows desktops, laptops, notebooks, and tablets.

Pre-loading does NOT work on iOS (iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch) and Android mobile operating systems because these devices are deliberately architected by Apple and Google to disallow pre-loading.  These devices are designed specifically to require a human action to initiate the download and playback of digital media content to avoid having peoples' cell phone bills go through the roof with unexpected download charges.

The local file caching option requires Adobe Flash support in the browser, hence must run on Windows, Linux, or desktop Macintosh OS.

RECOMMENDATION:  Hence, for commercial business use, we strongly recommend that you use a Windows, Linux, or Macintosh platform that supports Adobe Flash so that both pre-loading and local file caching are supported.
