Contemporary Reggae is not as primal the reggae music of the 1970s, nor is it as polished as pop reggae. Instead, it falls somewhere between the two, sticking to many of the traditions developed by the '70s foundational artists, but using polished production techniques that mark the recordings as products of their time.
