Who are the boovies
Who live in the holes
We thought had been made by
A family of moles?

Those dear pinkish boovies
Who play on the lawn
And sit in the sun
When the people are gone

They go to their parties
And love to tell jokes
(For most of your boovies
Are regular folks)

But the shy little creatures
Would never be found
Skipping about with
The people around

They pay close attention
For their dearest wish
Is not to be lawn-mowed
Captured or squished	
And so do be thoughtful
When leaving for town
And let them all know that
You won’t be around

Just go to the window and
Call “Hi-dee-ho
Come out little boovies
We’re ready to go!”

Or they will get frustrated
Under the lawn
Just waiting to hear if
You’re finally gone

And frustrated boovies
Can worry you silly
If you don’t believe it then
Ask your Aunt Tillie
