If you travel through Oklahoma
You may meet a fair woman there
She has eyes gray as December
She has short, curly blonde hair

When you meet her would you please tell her

She still moves through my days like dappled sunlight
She still moves through my dreams like the wind
And the reason I still carry her with me
No one in my life’s ever loved me the way she did

She did cut me deep as the ocean
She cut me like a switchblade knife
And like her perfume on the breeze in the evening
Her love for me faded and died
