If Everybody Had a Tail

When my little dog is feeling happy
She wags her tail side to side
If people had tails same as my dog
I wonder what this world would be like

Say I were to ask my new boss
How I did on my first day
If his tail stood still I’d start to sweat
If he wagged it I’d know I did okay

If everybody had a tail
People couldn’t help but show the way they felt
Instead of reading people’s minds, you could read their behinds
If everybody had a tail

If I had a date and I wasn’t sure
She enjoyed my company
I’d know she was having a real good time
If her tail started thumping on the car seat

And if I wasn’t sure if I should try
To give her a kiss goodnight
I’d know what to do if I peeked over her shoulder
And saw her tail wagging in the moonlight

If old Saint Pete reviewed my life
And there's no expression on his face
I’ll be in suspense until I heard
His tail whacking on that pearly gate
