Two saddles on a fence, two hearts with new affection
Heading in the same direction under autumn skies.
Two horses left to graze while their riders walk the river
And their hearts are all a-quiver with young lovers sighs.

Racing down the hill, they jumped the narrow stream
Then galloped through the trees past the old coal seam
They trotted down the path then tied up to the post
You can see it in her eyes, he's the boy she likes the most.
