He made his way to the big humvee
And never did he think that that he
Would be the young J.C to go to sea

They stood in pairs and made it seem
Like they were born to be a team but
Young J.C was trembling at the knees

One late night in forty four
In the middle of a naval war
Would be the last young J.C ever saw

The telegram flew through the door
And his mother fell to her knees
Along a letter signed by young J.C
