As young boys who were raised by our single mothers
We often feel the obligation to despise our fathers
That's until you become a man yourself and realise the pressure that come with the cards you're dealt
No excuses for a man who plants a seed and leaves the hard work for a woman to handle
But have you realised, once someone is vilified, no one ever wants to see life through a monster's eyes? 
Grown men I pose questions with a pure heart
And pray to GOD you don't feel the need to tell a lie
Now, are you a better man than your father is? 
You might provide better but do you know your kids? 
Are you really loyal to your wife, 
Or loyal to your pride and feeding your secret life? 
Would you treat her the same if the roles would change and you depended on her for financial aid? 
Would you still walk tall, if they knew the bruises on her legs didn't come from just a fall? 
The older you grow you start to see your parents' flaws
No because you're better, but you start looking at character
Tough questions come to mind,
Like as a man would you stay with a woman like your mother or leave her behind? 
Whoooo room got chilly,
Some so disgusted but some might feel me
Really...The demons you fight are familiar
The self-sabotage, the lust, and the anger, huh?
It's more than facial features that you get from  genes
It's pretty and ugly what trickles down that family tree
Next question might be derogatory
But could it be your father is an apples from a rotten tree
The problem might stem from the roots
Granddad had enough kids to form a gospel group

7 kids that never got the chance to know their father
Granddad did the same, dad did the same
Are you strong enough a man to break the toxic chain?

But we the generation not afraid to face what our worst is
Bring your demons to light if you wanna win
