Seems she always knows the score
Gets what she can
And never tries for more
She plays the game
With such elegance and style
Never overstays her welcome
Always leaves ‘em with a smile

Smooth Johny
Oh, he thinks he’s got a chance
Sure he’s the only one
Who gets a second glance
He knows the type
He’s been down this road before
Knows it won’t be long 
’Til Lucy’s knocking at his door

So the chase goes on
The weeks turn into years
Some words exchanged but nothing much gets said
Lucy spends a lot of time on Johny’s mind
But never once gets close to Johny’s bed

Twenty years have passed
Since Lucy lost her cool
Smooth Johny a hundred times
Has played the fool
They both live alone
Neither better for the game
Empty nights to sit and watch
