Somebody’s painted coulours
on my clothes and on my walls
and the colours on my TV
they don’t look the same at all.

And somene’s painting coulours
in my memory’s happy past
looks like the colours of my world
are changing way too fast.


Now they tell me i can’t play the games
I used to play before
I can’t live the way I used to
or say anything at all

And the things i thought were really cool
they’re retro now today,
Now the whole damn world that belonged to me
has left me far away.

Go chasing butterflies and rainbows,
and memories of the past
‘cos butterflies and rainbows
are the only things that last

And the things that I held close to me
don’y matter any more
And this cool cool world is changing
it chills me to the core.

And the people who surrounded me
they slowly slip away
while the colour in my phographs
slowly fade to grey.


And the tv show’s are changing
reality’s creping in
and the radio don’t tell you
who’s just played the latest thing

Now someone’s painting colours
down this street I used to go
all the colours of the rainbow
on this street I used to know.
