People Still Smoke

Well, people trying to say what's right for me
What I shouldn't take and what I shouldn't eat
You can't do this and you can't do that
It'll make you ill or it'll make you fat
No one ever said that we were here for good
I wouldn't hang around that long if I could
We're all gonna try and get our kicks just the same
And people still smoke though it's bad for them

There's a trend I see now throughout the land
They're gonna babysit you and hold your hand
They might be righteous, they might mean well
But those good intentions can lead to hell
I never had much time for politics
What's correct for one can make another sick
When my time comes I'll have me to blame

What we do good or bad is just between us and our souls

Busy-bodies they're trying to run us

He's gonna say in the end that it's up to you
Don't preach to me about what I should do
As if on yourself there weren't some work to do
