Title: Can I Change My Artist Name or Track Titles for Externally-Distributed Tracks?

A.  I’m sorry but for externally-distributed tracks we do not permit metadata changes on the externally-distributed tracks' information.  This includes disallowing changing the artist name, track title changes, etc.  The reason for this is that it would actually require a very disruptive takedown of such distributed content and then a redistribution of it.  To effect such a change, all the albums that the affected tracks are on would have to be taken down and then redistributed from scratch as new albums which would negatively materially impact all the other artists who have tracks on the same albums, and AudioSparx, as well as our digital distribution partners.  

However, you can certainly change your artist name here at AudioSparx and then any new tracks distributed after making that change will appear under the new artist name on the external decks.

I'm sorry we're not able to accommodate changing the metadata for externally-distributed tracks but it disrupts earnings for the affected albums and also negatively affects the earnings for dozens or hundreds of other artists who participate here.  Our policy on this issue is structured to strive to preserve and increase earnings over time rather than having it be disrupted and diminish.  We strenuously enforce this policy even-handedly for all artists who participate here to avoid having one artists harm other artists who participate in our external digital distribution.

To avoid this situation altogether, we highly recommend choosing a great and unique artist name, and track titles, before activating the artist profile here and uploading any tracks to the artist profile.  If you choose to participate in our external digital distribution services, it's important to resolve any metadata issues before we start digitally distributing the content because trying to make changes afterwards is a lot like trying to put toothpaste back into the tube after it has been squeezed out.
