We couldn't stop talkin' on our first date
We had so much in common/there was so much to say
As the months rolled slowly by we shared all our secrets
Made plans for the future then came the silence

Silence is not golden/It's a cold December gray
Quiet as the late autumn wind blowin' summer away
The roses we planted are dyin'/One by one, day by day
Our love fades a little more with each word we don't say

We had disagreements that grew and grew

Silence as a weapon is two phones that aren't ringing
