Mara, there is water filling up your room
Mara, there are whispers out in the gloom
What do you think I should do?
Because I can’t sleep up here in this door-less room

I’ll ride on to whatever fate may come
Another headstrong son, gone astray
Would it have been better had I stayed
Or is this just the way the change had to come

The little princess is in danger from the queen
And all the rivers have run deep underground
I can hear it running and bubbling
And it is such a wonderful sound
I know it is what we need to turn this all around
But we so need to find the means to escape the scene

I’ll ride on to whatever fate may come

The desert is twitching beneath or feet
It is a beacon that we must soon reach
You spit in my face
You already killed the princess, and tricked us
Was that not enough
But you will never do it again
That spot on your hand is the shadow under your skin
Taking what was once beautiful and making it dark within
