I spent my last 10 dollars on a lottery try                           
I don't need a lotta money, just enough to get by              
I might win a million dollars, that'd be a good trick                     
Just a hundred or two, I could pay a little bill, Might be my lucky day

Pretty girl behind the counter lookin' back at me
Little tag says her name is Annabelle Lee
She's got light brown hair and a bright red smile
Think I'll scratch a couple tickets, hang around for a while

Then we talked about the rain pourin' down last night	 
Told her if I hit a winner   I'd take her for a muddy ride

27 weeks later walkin' down that aisle
57 weeks more havin' our first child
She remembered 'bout a shootin' star on our first ride
Said it musta been the one that brought me into her life

Might be staying with her till the end

Two dollar ticket and a little spark flyin'
