I’m Over That

I can’t see the woods for the trees
I wouldn’t know what’s right if it was standing there, right in front of me
My vision is blurred through stained glass pane
I only see what I wanna see to keep my soul and mind in frame

But I’m not sure of the reasons
Of what it takes, where and why

Love can scare you half to death
It can leave emotions high, squeeze your heart, till your out of breath
Once you’re scorned you’re never the same
You can understand the love once you learn to ease the pain

I’ve been hurt, bruised and beaten
But I pick right up and start again

Why, once I learn to love I run away
No shame in that
Hindsight has a way of never letting go
But life’s to short and now, I’m over that

Given the choice I’d do it again
I might even jump right in and take a swim out the shallow end
Never the less I’ll try my luck
My head and heart will learn to think the same to understand what’s wrong

When you share your heart
You let them walk right in
Give it all you have
To only start again
I’ll let you feel my love
If you can comprehend
The way to my heart
Can be a treacherous end

Giving up my heart
To only choose again
But if I spoke my mind
I’d be the fool again
