As Daylight fades into the night
Revealing glimmering starlight
Sharing the sight of ancient eyes
When we look up towards the skies
Once seen as gods, the wandering stars
From golden Sun to blood-red Mars
The Moon and planets dancing by
Along the Zodiac they fly
Then came the age of reason, not a day too soon
The telescope showed new worlds like the Galilean moons
With luck you still may see the elusive Mercury
Before the rising of the Sun or when the day is almost gone

Beyond the rainbow bands of light
From Radio to Gamma rays
A sense of particles and waves
Technology becomes our eyes
Through deeper fields and darker skies
A quest to shine a light on mysteries
Dark Matter, Dark Energy
We stand on giant’s shoulders thanks to Newton’s gravity
Einstein and space-time, quantum singularities
More questions then to ask about the smallest and the vast
Unification is the key, working out what it all means

With one small step we reached the Moon
We really must go back there soon
Voyaging with planetary probes
Just shows there’s so much more to know
It’s only Human to explore
There’ll always be that one step more
From one blue dot, a tiny place
Our children’s playground, Outer Space
As long as we survive there’ll always be much more to see
Travelling the galaxy at high velocity
Visit strange new worlds and find
Other life, other minds
We’ll get tickets, we should go
And see this Universal show
