Epitomized by bands including Visage, Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet, Boy George (of Culture Club), Ultravox, Japan and Adam and the Ants, the New Romantic movement was a pop culture movement in the United Kingdom that began as a nightclub scene around 1979 and peaked around 1981.
