Tehran-born Hossein Farjami is an excellent player of the santoor or dulcimer, one of the oldest instruments in the world, originating in the Middle East. Here Mr. Farmami plays the santoor on a collection of vibrant instrumental Iranian folk songs. These melodies are accompanied by two drums, the dombak (goblet drum) and the daf (frame drum).
Mystical, mysterious Islamic music played on the Santoor. Beautiful, atmospheric, new age sounds. Works well for scenes with belly dancers and current news shows and documentaries dealing with Iran, Iraq and the Middle East. Instrumental, Middle East, Iran
