Seeking Angels


On a crisp cold winter’s night
Baby’s crying in her arms
Log fire burning, Christmas stocking on the hearth
Children wishing on a star

When will this babe begin to warm
On that cold December morn
Will he grow into a man who brings light into the world
Hush now baby don’t you cry


One by one we will walk a line to the sun
Seeking angels where the heavens light the stars
Seeking angels, star ship streaking across the sky
As little children lose the fight for light in their eyes

On the soft white virgin snow
A mother’s baby rests his head
Touching shadows, fighting for his every breath
Singing carols in a show

Have we lost the means to see
Was Christmas really meant to be
Fireside fables, packaged cheer at this festive time of year
